Ronald Marsh

1936-2019

Ronald Marsh

Clarence Ronald Marsh, age 82, of Trenton, passed away Friday, February 1, 2019, in Queen’s General Hospital, Liverpool. Born in Trenton, he was a son of the late Robert and Almira Catherine (Tanner) Marsh. He served as a Corporal in the Canadian Armed Forces with the 442 Squadron; he was retired from Northern Pulp. He was a member of the United Church of Canada. Dad loved fishing, a good western, traveling across Canada to see family, creating impromptu songs (albeit somewhat inappropriate at times). He was a story teller, leaving us to guess whether it was fact or fiction…he loved creating a good rumor and laughing at our gullibility. He always had a twinkle in his eye and was quick to laugh but the thing that most defined Papa, was his love for his family. Simply put, nothing mattered more than his family. He is survived by his children: Leslie (Travis Payzant), Trenton; "Little" Ron (Corinne Burton Marsh), Liverpool; Lauren (Gary Knickle), Hammonds Plains; siblings: Myrna (Lane Humphreys), Trenton; Jeanette Robertson, Trenton; grandchildren: Nicholi Marsh, Cale Delorey, Ben Marsh, Connor Marsh, Brynn Marsh Knickle; great-granddaughter: Kenzie Claire Delorey. He was predeceased by sisters, Roberta Catherine and Barbara Marsh; brother-in-law, Roland Robertson; beloved niece, Tracey Leger; and nephew, Sean Humphreys. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday, February 5, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow. Funeral service 2 pm Wednesday, February 6, in First United Church, 81 High St., Trenton, with Rev. Wade Reppert officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Dad loved to give to multiple charities, if you wish, we would encourage you do to the same.
