Roseanna St. Clair

Roseanna St. Clair

Roseanna Catherine St. Clair, from Pembroke, ON, daughter of Samuel and Georgina (Romaine) Boucher, passed away Monday, March 2, 2020, in the Aberdeen Hospital, with her loving husband, Lawrence Miller St. Clair, by her side.

She is also survived by: son, Kevin St. Clair, and his children, BC; daughter, Sherry Lynn Wilson (Spencer) and her children, Pembroke, ON; son, Andrew James St. Clair, and his children, New Glasgow, NS; son, Peter Quinn St. Clair (Heather McMaster) and his children, Belleville, ON; brother, Guy Boucher, Mississauga, ON; sister, Edna Bergeron, Heritage Manor, Pembroke, ON. She was predeceased by sons: Jeffrey Lawrence and Christopher Stephen St. Clair; sisters: Genevieve Taylor and Doreen Mons, ON; Gertrude Boucher, Deep River, ON; Janealle Melancon, Pembroke, ON; brother, Peter Boucher, Pembroke, ON.

She lived her life in a very simple way, choosing not to involve herself in difficult decisions or discussions. Her theory was everything will take care of itself in its own time. She was most happy at home and in gatherings of family and friends. Her hobbies included knitting, quilting, music, camping and cottaging with her children in their younger years and, of course, shopping did get its own undivided attention, especially flea markets, buying clothes and jewellery. She loved the seasons of her country with the changing colours, flowers and feeding birds, large and small. Some of her most cherished memories were site seeing Canada’s scenic countryside and villages as well as whale watching. She spent time pickling and preparing for Christmas by cooking and decorating; her Christmas cake was very delicious. She enjoyed church services, singing in the choir and CWL gatherings. The 12 years of school with the Sisters deepened and enriched her appreciation of her religion. She taught Sunday school and sang for weddings in the French church in Pembroke, ON. Her working years were at the Pembroke Veneer Plant, Superior Electric in silk screening, union rep for the United Steelworkers of America and finally as a telephone operator with the DND. She loved the simple way of life with children, family and friends. She never forgot a name.
