Our Ladies truly were angels and allowed her to stay in her own home, where she most wanted to be. We will be eternally grateful for the love and support they gave to Mom and to our family.
Alice worked tirelessly and selflessly, caring for her children and husband, always putting others before herself. She was humble and kind with a quiet strength that we could always count on to guide us whenever we needed it. Being together was what was most important to her and we have wonderful memories of large family meals and gatherings, all of which she made to seem so effortless and enjoyed so much.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 15th at R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 73 High St., Trenton from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral mass will be at St. John The Baptist Church New Glasgow, Monday, March16th at 2pm, with Fr. Tom MacNeil officiating. Burial will be in Christ the King Cemetery, Trenton.
The family would like to thank Dr. Tom Park and Dr. David King who managed her Parkinson’s over the years and allowed her to live her fullest life. Dr. Tolba who was so compassionate and provided excellent care during our visits to the ER. Also, the VON caregivers through the years, Dr. Krawczyk, Dr. Farrell and the Palliative Care nurses who made it a little easier for us to say goodbye.
If desired, donations in her memory may be made to Parkinson’s Society Canada or the Palliative Care Unit c/o Aberdeen Health Foundation. We were blessed to have had her as our mother, grandmother and sister as long as we did, she will be dearly missed.
