Howard Cholmondeley

Howard Daniel Cholmondeley, age 69, of Quinner Court, Westville, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020, in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Arthur and Vera (Langille) Cholmondeley. He retired from Michelin after 30 years and then worked for Linacy Greens, John L. Vance Plumbing and Suntime Enterprises. Howard was an avid fisherman and hunter and licensed guide and enjoyed spending time at his camp in Brown’s Mountain. He is survived by his wife, Beverley (Woodford); daughter, Tanya (Jeff) Hunter, Edmonton, AB; son, Arthur (Tracy), Fort St. John, BC; grandson, Damian; sister, Alice (Doug) Smith, New Glasgow; brother, Arthur (Linda), Ontario. He was predeceased by sisters, Shirley Zentner and Betty Cunningham; brothers, Allister, Gary, Gordon, Harold and one in infancy. The family would like to thank Alice and Doug for being there throughout Howard’s illness; Kevin and Lynn for the drives; and Joyce for all she did. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held in Thorburn Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Pictou County Food Bank. Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
