Mary Manos

Mary Manos, age 87, New Glasgow, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020, in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Katina (Gerulakos) Manos. Mary worked in the family business, London Fruit, with her sisters Helyn and Angelina and brother Peter. She was a member of and attended Saint Georges Anglican Church. She was an avid and terrific skater and enjoyed sports and horse racing with her long-time friend, Jim MacGillivray. She had many trips to Florida with friends and enjoyed summers at Kings Head with family, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews and loved babysitting her great-nieces and nephews. She is survived by a sister, Angelina, New Glasgow; brother, George (Shirley), New Glasgow; numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Helyn; brothers, Peter, whom she adored; Jimmy and older brother, Samuel. Visitation 6-8 pm Friday, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow. A private service will take place with Rev. Falen McNulty officiating. Burial in Lorne Street Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice.
