W.M. "Mack" Hattie
1917-2009
Hattie, William MacPhie “Mack”, age 92, of North Main St.,
Trenton, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009 at home. Born in Sunny
Brae, he was the son of the late Newton and Hilda (MacPhie) Hattie.
He was a retired assistant superintendent with Hawker Siddeley and
Trenton Industries. He was a member of the First United Church
Trenton. He was a charter member of the Pictou County Amateur Radio
Club. He is survived by his wife the former Hazel MacBeth; son: Newton
(Sandra), Trenton; granddaughters: Susan (Pat) Chartrand, Alberta;
Carolyn (Bob) Forgeron, Dartmouth; Joy Tuck, Atlanta Georgia; great
grandsons: Robert and Cory Forgeron; Blaine Chartrand; nieces: Debbie
(Stephen) Higgs; Joan (Chris) Jelks; nephew: Brent (Doreen) Campbell.
He was predeceased by his sister Betty Campbell, brother in law
Wendell. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday
in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home Trenton. Funeral service 2 pm Monday
in First United Church with Rev. Debra Orton officiating. Burial will
be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date. Family flowers
only please. Donations in his memory may be made to First United
