Mary Isabel "Muni" Murphy, 1917- 2013. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, gram and great gram.  With pride, we celebrate the life of Mary Isabel (McCarron) Murphy "Muni" who passed away surrounded by family, on June 17, 2013. Born in New Glasgow, she was the first child of the late Florence (MacKinnon) and William A. McCarron. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family and the pride she felt in her involvement in their lives.  Always a joke or song to share; her home was filled with laughter, music and joy. She was predeceased by husband: James "Mickey" Murphy; parents: Florence and Billy McCarron; brothers: Bernie, Adrian and Joseph; sisters: Helen Coleman and Phyllis Aileen; sons: Gary Murphy and James Murphy; grandchildren: Rosalie Murphy, Simon Pitts, Maureen and Kevin Gerard Murphy; great grandchild: Meghan Hingley. She is survived by sons: Kevin (Greta) Murphy of Sherwood Park, AB; and Brian (Helen) Murphy of Sherwood Park, AB; daughters: Carol Boyle of New Glasgow; Helen Gerrior of Banff, AB;  Aileen (Simon) Pitts of New Glasgow; and Patricia (Rick) Muzyk of Ingramport, NS; daughters-in-law: Ann Marie (Gary) of Bedford; and Carmella (James) of Sackville, NS; grandchildren: Greg, Donald and Paul Murphy; Tim and Erin (Hingley) Murphy; Kevin, Carol Anne, Michael, Michelle (Drysdale) and Ken Boyle; Sean, Shannon (Goulet) and Cristin Murphy; Amanda (Henderson), Nick and Matthew Murphy; Craig, Melanie, Susan and Krista Gerrior; Shane, Pamela (Swaine) and Andrew Pitts; great grandchildren: Joseph, Ella, Jack, Connor, Colin, Alex, Jake, Brett, Charlie, Ellen, Katelyn, Derrick, Braden, Aaron, Katie, Christopher, Norah, Kieran, Charlotte, Sophie, Sullivan, Simon and Ashton; and great-great grandson Cory; sisters: Kaye (Jack) Rehill, New Glasgow; Joan Leseaux, Ottawa; brother: Owen, Trenton. Visitation Wednesday 7-9 pm and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home in New Glasgow. Funeral Mass at 2 pm on Friday June 21 at Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, with Father Gary MacPherson officiating.  Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery with lunch to follow at the church hall. Family flowers only please. Donations in her name can be made to Palliative Care or a charity of your choice. St John’s CWL will meet at 1:45 pm Thursday at the funeral home for prayers.
