Marlene Young, age 51, died Monday, May 18th, 2015 after a short battle with cancer. Born on October 16th, 1963, she was a daughter of Helen (Connolly) Young and the late John Young of New Glasgow. She is survived by her children: Amanda (Mombourquette) Cameron, New Glasgow; Jennifer Mombourquette, Halifax; Jeffrey Piek, Halifax; siblings: Carol Anne (Mark) McAdam, Calgary; Robert Young, Toronto; Kathleen Baxter (Roger Reid), Westville; and Kevin (Beth) Young, Arizona; and her grandchildren J.T. and Emma.  Marlene valued time spent with family and friends and the simple pleasures in life.  She demonstrated strength, courage and integrity in all that she did and always put others before herself.  Her smile and wit will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Visitation will be held at R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow on Friday, May 22, 2015 from 7-9 pm.  A private family service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 in the Holy Cross Cemetery, New Glasgow. Donations in her memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society.
