Margaret Justine (Fennell) Cuthbert. It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Cuthbert. "Aunt Marg", as she was affectionately known, passed away peacefully with nieces Ruth and Charlotte by her side at her residence, Glen Haven Manor, on the evening of Tuesday, April 28, 2020. She was born in New Glasgow on April 14, 1933. She had just celebrated her 87 th birthday.

She was the daughter of the late Richard and Johanna (Kelly) Fennell. She was predeceased by her husband, James "Jim" Cuthbert, Ontario; brothers, Fred, Frank, Jack, Hugh and Bill; sisters, Helen "Nin" and Ruth. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary (MacIntosh) Fennell, MacLellan’s Brook and brother-in-law, William "Billy" Chisholm, Hampton, NB. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Margaret worked as a Civil Servant and Office Administrator most of her life. She resided in Halifax and Scarborough before returning home to New Glasgow in her retirement. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Women’s League (CWL). Marg loved her meditation and yoga, which she practiced faithfully until she was physically unable. She was an avid reader and loved to follow current affairs. Her favorite televised programs were The News and anything on The Shopping Channel. She loved to sew and was always very proud to let people know she produced her own clothing.

There will be no service or arrangements at this time. A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the administration and staff of Glen Haven Manor for taking such great care of Marg and making her comfortable in the last five years of her life. Donations in her memory can be made to Feed Nova Scotia, St. John the Baptist CWL or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
