Cynthia Jane Greene. It is with heavy hearts that we share
the sudden passing of Cindy, our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and
friend. Cindy passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at home.
Born in New Glasgow, March 6,1959, she was the 6th child of the late
John and Mary (Hayman) White. She is survived by son, Justin;
daughter, Stephanie; grandsons: William, Skyler and Oliver; sisters:
Mary Ellen Ward; Chris (Miles) Kirkendall; Kathy (Peter) Legere;
Colleen (Wayne) Van’tslot; brothers: John (Donna); Hugh
(Linda) and Glenn (Riza); several nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by brother, Freddie. Cindy is also survived by aunts Barb
King, Margie (Howard) Atwater. Cindy started her working career with
Sobeys and worked at several locations in Nova Scotia. She spent many
years in Newfoundland raising her children. After moving back to Nova
Scotia, she spent time in Bridgewater, then moved back to New Glasgow
and finished her working career in Fort McMurray. Cindy held her
children and grandchildren close to her heart as well as her loving
family and friends. She always found time to keep in touch and loved
talking to those near and far. In her early life, she was a member of
the Ceilidh Girls Pipe Band. She enjoyed crocheting, drawing and word
games. She was a diehard fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. She was full
of love, laughter and adventure. Her friends at AA supported her for
many years. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her dearly. Her
special friend Don will miss watching Saturday night hockey games
together. Private family funeral service will be at 11 am on Friday,
in R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, with Rev. Donna Tourneur
officiating. Family flowers only. Due to Covid, a
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations in her
memory may be made to The Marguerite Centre for Women in Lakeside,
N.S.
