Cynthia Jane Greene. It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of Cindy, our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Cindy passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at home. Born in New Glasgow, March 6,1959, she was the 6th child of the late John and Mary (Hayman) White. She is survived by son, Justin; daughter, Stephanie; grandsons: William, Skyler and Oliver; sisters: Mary Ellen Ward; Chris (Miles) Kirkendall; Kathy (Peter) Legere; Colleen (Wayne) Van’tslot; brothers: John (Donna); Hugh (Linda) and Glenn (Riza); several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, Freddie. Cindy is also survived by aunts Barb King, Margie (Howard) Atwater. Cindy started her working career with Sobeys and worked at several locations in Nova Scotia. She spent many years in Newfoundland raising her children. After moving back to Nova Scotia, she spent time in Bridgewater, then moved back to New Glasgow and finished her working career in Fort McMurray. Cindy held her children and grandchildren close to her heart as well as her loving family and friends. She always found time to keep in touch and loved talking to those near and far. In her early life, she was a member of the Ceilidh Girls Pipe Band. She enjoyed crocheting, drawing and word games. She was a diehard fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. She was full of love, laughter and adventure. Her friends at AA supported her for many years. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her dearly. Her special friend Don will miss watching Saturday night hockey games together. Private family funeral service will be at 11 am on Friday, in R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, with Rev. Donna Tourneur officiating. Family flowers only.  Due to Covid, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to The Marguerite Centre for Women in Lakeside, N.S.
