Marie Ann MacVicar, 73, of New Glasgow and
formerly of Ontario, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021, in the
Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Brampton, Ontario, she was a daughter of
the late Trueman George and Jean Bertha (Yetman) Handy. She was a
retired secretary. She was a Queen of Red Hat Association, Mount
Forest, Ontario. Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great
grandmother and sister. She is survived by her husband, Allen Wayne
MacVicar; children: Glenn Scott MacVicar (Lisa Marie), Ont.; James
Allen MacVicar (Lori), Ont.; Christina Marie (MacVicar) Walker (Carl
Walker Jr.), B.C.; brothers: John Trueman Handy (Celine), Ont.; Bruce
Allen Handy (Sandra), Ont.; sister: Gail (Handy) Pike (Gerald), PEI; 5
grandchildren: Kayla, Taylor, Matthew, Griffin and Nicklas; 3
great-grandchildren: Piper, Madison and Ellie; brothers-in-law:
William Darrell MacVicar (Lynn); Charles Ross MacVicar (Carol Anne);
Dale Scott MacVicar (Carolyn); sister-in-law: Linda Mary Wuensch
(Ron). Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held
at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and
Stroke Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter
Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
