It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Michael
D’Arcy O’Neill, 57, on August 25, 2021. His battle
with cancer was fought with determination, courage, and hope. Born in
New Glasgow on August 6, 1964, he was a son of Veronica and Patton
O’Neill. He is also survived by brother, Stephen
O’Neill, sister, Sharon O’Neill, and was
predeceased by a brother, Patton O’Neill
Jr.
D’Arcy leaves behind his dear wife, Charlene,
loving children, Adam (Sabrina), Sam (Jenna), Lacey (Jeremy), and
three grandchildren: Damon (Adam), Madelynn (Lacey) and Averi (Sam).
D’Arcy is deeply loved; he will be missed dearly by all his
family, extended family, nieces, nephews, and friends.
D’Arcy and his wife established their business,
Fuel Time, in 1994. His passion to provide for his family drove an
exceptional work ethic and he was extremely proud and honoured to
serve his community. He will forever be remembered for his generosity,
sense of humour, jokes, sports, sitting poolside and spending time
with family and friends.
To all family, friends, palliative team, oncology and VON, we
so greatly appreciate the exceptional care given and all that was done
during this difficult time.
There will be no visitation. A private service will
take place at 1 pm Monday, August 30. Family, friends, and visitors
are invited to gather at his home on 231 Acadia Street, for a
Celebration of Life beginning at 4 pm August 30th. Donations in his
memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or a
charity of choice. Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter
Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
