John Malcolm McDavid, age 63, of New Glasgow, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Sifton and Helen (Hocquard) McDavid. He was a retired facility manager with NSCC. John served on  the Water Treatment Board and CHAD Transit Board for the Town of New Glasgow. He was an avid Crushers and Scotians fan. He is survived by his wife, Joanne (MacLean); son, Michael (Maria); grandson, Logan; sisters: Faye Greene (Les); Barb (Dave) Mason; brothers: Wayne; Donald; mother-in-law, Doris MacLean; sisters-in-law: Kathy (Donnie) Kennedy; Janet (Donnie) Dewar; Angela (Mark) Stroud; brother-in-law, Allan (Bonnie) MacLean. He was predeceased by father-in-law, Joe MacLean; sister-in-law, Alice McDavid. There will be no visitation. A private service will take place. As per NS COVDI-19 restrictions, attendees must wear a mask and show proof of full vaccination and valid ID. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Pictou County Palliative Care Society. Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
