Henry 'Alan' Dee, 70, of Trenton, Nova Scotia passed away on January 1st, 2022 at the Aberdeen Hospital in the Palliative Care Unit, with his wife by his side. Born in Trenton, he was the youngest son of the late Henry Dee and Sadie (MacKay) Dee.
From a young age, Alan worked at the former Trenton Works. He had worked in many different departments and became the chargehand of the Punch and Shears department before retiring after 39 years.
After retirement, Alan could almost always be found tinkering in the yard or his barn. He was a jack-of-all trades. Some of his hobbies included gardening, carpentry/wood working, four wheeling, and going for long drives along the countryside.
Alan battled through many health issues over the last 10 years of his life. Through his health issues he always remained patient and kind. His acceptance and undeniable love for his family was something to be admired, especially the love he had for his grandchildren. They were the light of his life. His funny and playful mannerism always brought smiles to their faces. He brought them as much joy as they brought him.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Carolyn (MacKenzie) Dee; son, Steven (Thérèse) Dee and grandchildren, Emma, Jacob and Oliver, Stellarton; daughter, Angela Dee, Trenton. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Gordon Dee; sister, Judith "Judy" Dartt; nephew, Scott Dee and special friend, John Kay Martin.
Cremation will take place under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at a later date, weather permitting. Due to COVID restrictions the family has decided to forgo a viewing.
