With heavy hearts the family of Lorraine Elizabeth Langley, age 66, announce her passing, peacefully, at home surrounded by her loving family on April 26, 2022.

Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by the love-of-her-life for almost 47 years, Steven Langley. Devoted mother to daughter Janice (Sandy) Spears, and son Steven (Sherrie) Langley.

Lorraine was a daughter of the late Vincent and Phyllis (Totten) Dwyer of Mount William. She was a loving wife, mother, nanny, sister, aunt, and cherished friend. Nanny will be especially missed by her adoring grandchildren: Emma, Brandon, and Addison Langley; and step-grandchildren, Stephen and Nathan Spears. Loving sister to the late Mary (Joe) Levangie, Loretta (Mal) Brooker, Ronald (Gena) Dwyer, and Kay Spears; sister-in-law, to Barb (Jim) Lerikos, Mabel (Leith) Mahoney, Harold ‘Chick’ (Marilyn) Langley and Phillip Langley; numerous nieces and nephews. Cherished friend to Helen Roper and Donnie Murray and so many others.

She was a school custodian for over 18 years within the Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education. In her early years, depending on the season, you were bound to see and/or hear Lorraine at almost any Pictou County rink or ball field, always the most encouraging, supporting, and adoring fan to her family and friends.

The family would like to extend a sincere heartfelt thank you to Dr. Anne Kwasnik-Krawczyk, the Palliative Care Team, especially Debbie and Rachel, the VON staff, and the Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital for all their care and assistance during this time.

It was Lorraine’s wish that she spend her last days at home where she lived for more than 46 years. It was because of her sister, Loretta’s, support, devoted kindness, and love of her sister, the family was able to fulfill this wish. Steve, Janice, and Steven appreciate it more than they could ever say.

Lorraine gave all she had to her family she loved so much. She will be forever in our hearts.

There will be no visitation or funeral by personal request. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place at Hillside Cemetery on April 29 th at 11am. A celebration of life will be held at the Trenton Rink Annex on Friday, April 29 th from 12 – 2 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home. If so, desired contributions may be made to Palliative Care Unit, Aberdeen Hospital.
