Ann Elizabeth "Anna" Pelerine, 90, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit where she received outstanding care by the nursing team.

Born in New Glasgow on June 21, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Elizabeth A. (Richard) and David J. Pelerine. A lifelong resident of New Glasgow, she was a caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

For many years, she enjoyed bowling, playing cards and traveling. She belonged to a very special stitching group with her nieces and other family members and friends. They met weekly; they had lots of fun and she enjoyed many wonderful years with this group. She was a beautiful crocheter and made some beautiful afghans through the years. 

She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchild immensely. Surviving are her children: Carolyn Pelerine; Pauline (James) Chisholm; John (Janet) Pelerine; Gary Pelerine; grandchildren: Erin, Matthew, Lauren (Gregg), Amy and Leslie; great-grandchild, Olivia; brother, Greg (Linda); sisters: Pauline and Mary (Don); numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jim; sister, Helen Richard; brothers: Art and Henry Pelerine.

Visitation 6-8 pm Thursday, June 16, at R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow. Funeral Mass will be held 2 pm Friday, June 17, at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow, with Fr. Tom MacNeil presiding and Fr. Paul Abbass concelebrating. The family requests that masks be worn by all attending both the visitation and funeral. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery Family flowers only please. Donations in her memory may be made to Holy Cross Cemetery or Palliative Care Unit c/o Aberdeen Health Foundation.
