Barry Kenneth Langille, March 31, 1960 – June 22, 2022.

Barry was born to his surviving parents, Kenny and Gale Langille, in New Glasgow, where he resided his entire life. He is the oldest of four siblings, brothers, Randy and Stephen (Michelle), and sister, Lynn (Jackie). He is survived by his former partner, Angela Barteaux; four children, Jacqueline MacDonald-Kyle (Todd), Barry Langille (Aline), Sara Linden, Katie Langille; grandchildren, Sebastian and Peyton, Tyson, and Vance; nieces and nephew, Christene, Gale, and Scott. Also survived by his first wife and mother of his children, Janice Langille. 

Barry spoke fondly of memories growing up of his predeceased grandparents, Keith and Rita Langille and James and Bertha Frazee. He loved the outdoors and spent much of his time on his grandparent’s hobby farm tending to the horses. Dad loved animals, especially his Chihuahua Diego. 

Barry found his passion as a marksman when he joined 219 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps. He spent his summers at Cadet Camp where he made lifelong friends. He was named top shot in Canada at 16 and travelled to Bisley to compete nationally. Barry’s second home was the range and was a proud member of the Dominion of Canadian Rifle Association. He travelled with deep curiosity and wonder all over Canada, US, England, Australia, and South Africa following his shooting dream where he received many top awards. 

Dad was a Dodge man through and through and self-taught at restoring muscle cars. He was a jack-of-all trades, particularly gifted as a craftsman, upholsterer, and horticulturalist. Our happiest times were cooking a turkey dinner on holidays and sharing meals with his family, especially lobster boils. Barry was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. 

Barry is at rest at R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow, with visitation 6-9 pm Sunday, June 26. Masks recommended for those attending. Funeral service 2 pm Monday, June 27 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, with Rev. Dr. Joon Ki Kim officiating. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Burial will be in Lorne Street Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.
