Phyllis Cameron Walters, age 90, of MacLellan’s Brook, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, at home. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Roy Eldridge and Edith Belinda (Moore) Hamilton. She was employed with Maritime Tel and Tel for 42 years as an operator, clerk and retired as a supervisor. Phyllis was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers and past member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 28 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by niece, Belinda (Glen) Machon; nephew, Edison (Sharon) Hamilton; sister-in-law, Colleen Hamilton; niece, Carol Hamilton; grandnephews: Brodie (Liz) Machon; Tyson (Amber) Machon; Aaron (Cassidy) Hamilton; grandniece, Loreigh (Greg) MacKay; special cousin, Barry (Jeannie) Stewart; several great-grandnephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Stuart Walters; brother, Parker Hamilton; and nephew, Sullivan Hamilton. A public graveside service for Phyllis and Stu will take place at 3:30pm Saturday, July 23, in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
