Elizabeth A. "Betty" Jennex, New Glasgow, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022, at home. Born July 1, 1936 in Saint John, NB, she moved to New Glasgow in 1956. She worked at the Metropolitan until her retirement. She was a member of the 55 Plus Club, FSNA Pictou County Council of Seniors and Royal Canadian Legion Br. 29 Trenton. Betty was involved with Senior Outreach; volunteered with Canadian Cancer Society, Aberdeen Hospital Gift Shop; canvassed for Lung Association, Diabetes Association and the Alzheimer’s Society. Betty was a very social person and loved darts, cards, her friends and her Timmy times. Family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were very important to her. She is survived by her children: John Fraser, New Glasgow; Heather McGowan, Saint John; Scott Fraser (Crystal), Indiana; Sandra Fraser (Vernon), New Glasgow; Deanna Punk (Bryan), Stoney Creek, AB; brother, Robert Campbell, Saint John; sister, Nancy Campbell Burnett, Saint John; special sister, Lorraine Taylor, New Glasgow; step-children: Ann (Elmer) DeYoung, New Glasgow; Dalphene Rankin, Alberta; grandchildren: Christina, Kali, Jared, Jade, July Beth, Krista, Aspen, Dax, Joshua, Isaac; great-grandchildren: Cheyenne, Emilia, Trustan, Ayla Jade, Taylor, Kera, Aiden, Richie, Audrey; numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special friend, Cecilia Emery; many wonderful friends. She was predeceased by parents: Colin and Mildred (Fuller) Campbell; her husband, Otis; father of her children, John Fraser; brothers: Williard and Donald Campbell; sister, Colleen Currie; stepson, Elmer "Toby"; stepson-in-law, Bill Rankin; grandchildren, Glenna Fraser and James Fraser. Funeral 11 am Wednesday, in R.H. Porter Funeral Home Chapel, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow, with Rev. Rosemary Godin officiating. The service was recorded, link below.
