Diane Rauh, aged eighty-five, passed away at Glen Haven Manor
with her sister and friend by her side, Friday, November 4, 2022. Born
in New Glasgow, she was the chosen daughter of Daniel Mackenzie Hood
and Jennie (Campbell) Hood.
Diane grew up in the North End of New Glasgow and at one
time, worked as a hairdresser. Later, she took a course as a
personal-care worker at Glen Haven Manor where she worked for several
years. She was a conscientious worker who was respected for her
kindness to the residents. After retirement, she enjoyed her trips to
the Aberdeen Mall and caring for her pets. Her love for animals was a
priority in her life.
Diane faced challenges in her life, but she faced them with a
determined, admirable spirit. After being diagnosed with dementia, she
resided at Glen Haven under the care of many devoted caregivers. Along
with them, three people deserve special mention: Janice Tarum, Barb
Clarke, and Mary Tattrie. These kind ladies were there for Diane when
she needed them.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Elizabeth
Sutherland; niece, Lisa Keeping; sister-in-law, Barb Hood; many
cousins. Diane was predeceased by her parents and brother,
Dannie.
