Delores Catherine (Hendsbee) Baillie, of Egypt Road, or better known as "Del", "Nanny Baillie", and "Nanny Darlin". Delores "Nanny Baillie", age 93, passed away December 27th, 2022 at the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in New Glasgow on November 28th, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Clara (Martell) and Aulden Hendsbee. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert; daughter, Betsy; sister, Edie; and brothers, Aulden and Shelly.

Delores spent many years working for both Woolworth’s and Sears. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed baking, cooking, bird watching, and rarely turned down a game of cards. At noon, you could find her having lunch with her family; you never knew what was on the menu or who would be dropping by but it was always delicious and everyone was welcome.

Delores loved watching things grow, her plants, her aquariums, but most especially her family.  She loved her family more than anything and was so proud of each and every one of them. Delores is survived by her children: Eva (Dave) Simpson, Kathy Baillie, Rupert Baillie, and son-in-law, Robert Taylor. Delores shared a special bond with her sisters who were her best friends, Elsie Hughes, Betty Fraser, and Joan Jordan. She is also survived by grandchildren, Bobbi-Jo (Jason) Mahar, Julie Taylor, Jenny Taylor, Jason Taylor, Jamie (Sherri) Taylor, Tracy (Scott) Lennon, Kelly (Fraser) Griffon, Betsy Mackenzie, Louie MacKenzie, Pele (Justin) Gallant and Shawn (Jana) Hessian; great grandchildren, Deanna, Blake, Jeffrey, Jamie, Thomas, Carter, Baillie, Kori, Daniel, James, Payton, Zachary, Myla, Levi; great-great grandchildren, Keigan, Kaiden, Gabriel, and Oliver.

Delores had an open door and an open heart, lucky were those who had the chance to be loved by her. Her love for her family will live on in those she leaves behind.

A special and sincere Thank You to Dr. Park and the 4th floor nursing staff for the care she received.

Visitation will be held at R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow, on Monday, January 2nd from 1-2pm followed by a service at 2pm. Graveside burial at Hillside Cemetery and reception to follow at Hillside Community Hall.
