In Loving Memory of Kimball Edward Lucas, age 92, of the Valley View Villa, formerly of Robertson Street, New Glasgow.
Born September 11, 1930 in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Edward and Eva Mae (Hirshfield) Lucas. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 8, 2023, at the Aberdeen Hospital.
Kimball had a full life; he owned a paint contracting business for many years which later became a family business with his sons. He enjoyed meeting people and making friendships along the way. Kimball enjoyed fishing and hunting and had many trips with his friends, along with travelling with his wife Jean to many different places in Canada and Europe. As an active member of his community, he was involved with the Knights of Columbus and St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church. He was a loving husband to Jean whom he cherished; his 11 children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren all made his life complete.
He is survived by his children: son, Gary Lucas (Janet (Falt) Lucas); daughter, Bernadette Lucas-Enger; daughter, Debra (Lucas) McKay (Wayne McKay); daughter, Rhoda (Lucas) MacKenzie (Dan Wheaton); son, Bryan Lucas; son, Kevin Lucas (Annette (Delaney) Lucas); daughter, Terry (Lucas) Redmond (Jim Redmond); son, Paul Lucas (Lauren (Mingo) Lucas); son, Craig Lucas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Laura Jean Lucas; sons: Kimball Joseph Lucas and Raymond Allan Lucas; great-grandchildren: McKenna Danielle Redmond, Morgan Darlene Leil and Keigan Kimball Lucas; son-in-law, Bernard Enger; sisters: Rita, Helen, Yvonne and Kathleen.
The family would like to thank the staff on the 4 th Floor at the Aberdeen Hospital for all the care he received.
A private funeral mass and burial will take place. The service was recorded, a link to the recording is below. Family flowers only please. Donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer Society or St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
