Myrna Frances MacPherson, age 88, of New Glasgow,
passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023, in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born
in Cross Roads Country Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Bruce
and Mary Claudine (Hodgson) Smith. She was a member of Trinity United
Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Myrna was a savvy business
woman, working as the bookkeeper and co-owner of MacPherson Esso. Her
interests included making fabulous quilts, a love of horses, bling,
Swamp People, Downton Abbey, her cat and feeding the deer and crows.
She was a feisty woman, she thought nothing of having disgusting
commercials taken off the air. Her favourite quote: "Better to
have the whole horse than just the horse’s ass". She is
survived by brother, Marland

grandnephews: Hunter, Nick and Ryan. She was predeceased by her
husband, Elmer MacPherson; sister, Wilma (Hugh) Gibson; brothers,
Bruce and Arden; nephew, Donald; grandniece, Shawna Mason. Visitation
1-2pm Sunday, in R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New
Glasgow, followed by funeral at 2pm, with Rev. Donna Tourneur
officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Family flowers only
please. Donations in her memory may be made to the Pictou County SPCA,
Trinity United Church or C.A.R.M.A. (Cat
Rescue).
