C. Allen Barron, age
85, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2023, after
a short illness and a long-fulfilled life. He lived in New Glasgow
with his wife Mary. He passed away at the Aberdeen Hospital surrounded
by loving family and friends. He was born to Cecil and Ila Barron in
Dalhousie, New Brunswick.
He started his career at Zellers but
moved onto a number of pulp mills from which he retired after 40
years. He loved to spend time with his friends at the Elks Club,
Bombers Club, and later Glen Lovat Golf Course. His
interests included gardening, crosswords, woodworking and
"fishing".
He is survived by his loving wife of
29 years, Mary; children: Steven (Donna), Linda, Christine (Greg),
Susan and Kelly (Scott); grandchildren: Jim, Bradley, Todd (Tracy),
Heidi (Alec), Ryan (Vanessa), Amir, and Kian; great-granddaughter,
Ruby. He is also survived by four "favourite sisters":
Elizabeth (Jack), Wanda, Judy (Paul) and June (Jim). He was
predeceased by parents Ila and Cecil; first wife, Barbara; son, Peter
J.; sister, Eileen; sister-in-law, Kathy; brothers-in-law: Olin
Ritchie and Ed Dodds. He was well loved by all his nephews and
nieces.
The family would like to sincerely
thank Dr. Jeans and the nurses on 4 North and Palliative Care at the
Aberdeen Hospital. He will be forever missed and loved by
all.
Arrangements under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home,
55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow. Visitation will be held Friday, March 10,
2023 from 4-7 pm with the funeral taking place on Saturday, March 11,
2023 at 2 pm, both at R.H. Porter Funeral Home. The service was
