After being fully vaccinated and diagnosed with rapid metastatic cancer, he succumbed to his brief illness 78 years young.
Greg was a well-liked man and was known for his Irish trait of being a great storyteller. He had the gift of gab and always willing to strike up a conversation with anyone at any time. His range of topics went from sports, to history to ghost stories. He loved hockey (Toronto Maple Leafs was his favorite team) and became very supportive of his son Joe's sporting career in football and rugby. He loved being surrounded by nature and the countryside, especially trips on the train.
He had a variety of jobs during his working years but notably Michelin Tires from 1972-1977, Cookes Transfer in the 1980's and Peter McInnes Transfer in the 1990's.
After his trucking career ended, he semi-retired as the summer camp handyman at Camp Geddy and then YMCA. He loved children and always made a memorable impression on the camp youth with his storytelling and his ability to engage them in hands-on work.
During retirement you could find Greg at the New Glasgow rink watching Jr. A hockey or at the St. FX University in Antigonish watching a football game (his son a former Xmen). He also had a passion for puttering around in the garage and fixing up old vehicles (character trait passed on through his Grampie Kehoe).
