Margaret Rose Robbins, passed away peacefully on April 26th surrounded by her loving family in Milford Haven, Guysborough.

Born on April 11th, 1937, Margaret was a daughter of the late William A. and Gladys (Spooner) Chisholm.

In her younger years, Margaret attended Nova Scotia Teachers College from where she graduated and became a teacher, a role she always spoke very fondly of. 

Although Margaret loved teaching, and had many fond memories of those years, she happily gave up that career to raise her family. While raising ten children, she managed to keep her many passions on the go.  She was known for her love of cooking and knitting which allowed her to be an entrepreneur at local farmers markets selling her famous fruitcakes and STFX mittens.

Painting was another one of Margaret's favourite hobbies, and it brought her a lot of pleasure.

Margaret loved being outdoors and took great pride in her flower beds.  It was by no coincidence her middle name was Rose as she was a natural at making any flower flourish. 

Another big love in Margaret’s life was Cape Breton music. She was always in for a good Ceilidh and took many trips with her husband Marv to the West Mabou Hall.

Margaret Rose is survived by her loving husband, Marvyn; children, Greg (Helen), Geralyn (David), Paul, Jackie (Craig), Donalda (Mark), Denyse (Lisa), Eleanor (Peter); grandchildren, Adam, Danny, Megan, Ian, Mike, Emma, Teddy, Daniel, Mark and Matthew; and great grandchild, Alexander. She is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn and Jean; and stepdaughters, Barbara and Marjorie.

Margaret was predeceased by her sons, Daniel, Terry, Matthew, their father, Dan. J; brothers, Johnny, Wilfred, Sandy; sisters Cecilia, Nancy, and Veronica.

Funeral will take place Tuesday, May 2nd at 11am St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lismore. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
