It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of James Earle MacLean on May 8, 2023. Born August 29, 1931, he was a son of the late Ethel May (Crosby) MacLean and Thomas Henry Smith MacLean. He was predeceased by his parents, grandson, Jeffrey Alan Scanlan, brothers, Thomas, John, David, Donnie, Richard (infant), sister, Diane, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is survived by his children: "Jim" Jamie (Debby), Alfred T., Vera (Arthur) Bingham, Verna, Janet (David) MacKenzie, and April (Aubrey) Stewart; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice (George) Kozmenski, BC, Shirley (Wayne) Lyle, BC; and brother, Bobby, BC; nieces, nephews, cousins; former wife, Edna MacLean; and sister-in-law, Elsie Simon. He was a member of First United Church, Trenton. Visitation will take place Saturday, May 13 from 2-4pm at R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 73 High St., Trenton. The family requests those attending the visitation to please wear a mask. A graveside service will take place at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to First United Church, Trenton, or to a charity of your choice.
