It is with great sadness that we, the family of Glenn William Mackie, age 82, of New Glasgow, announce his passing in the QEII Halifax Infirmary on May 31, 2023. Born in New Glasgow on March 31, 1941, he was a son of the late Shirley (Mason) Mackie and William Herbert Mackie. Glenn was a graduate of St. Mary’s University; a former member of Pipefitters Local 244, Antigonish and a member of Pipefitters 488, Edmonton, AB. He is survived by his former wife, Beverly; children, Glenn (Tracey) , Sherri Lynne Woolley  (Bruce); brothers, Faber (Patricia), Gary (Teresa); sister, Penny Sortori (late Jon); his dearly loved grandchildren, Jordan, Kaggan and Nicola;  many nieces and nephews and special niece, Melissa (MeMe) Mackie.  He was predeceased by a brother, Blaine. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service. Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
