Robert Arthur "Bob" Kilcup, of Little Harbour, Pictou County, NS, passed away in the Aberdeen Hospital on Friday, June 30, 2023, at the age of 83 years.

Born in Sackville, NB, he was the son of the late Rhoda and Ernest Kilcup. After graduation from Mount Allison University, he moved to St. Catharines, ON, and joined Mercury Paint and Varnish Company as a chemist. It was in St. Catharines that he met and married Joanne (Neale). They moved to Pictou County in the early 70’s to join Michelin at its new factory in Granton. He worked in their Service Z until his retirement.

In retirement, Bob took a special interest in the Church Brook Cemetery in Little Harbour, where he spent several years documenting locations of funeral plots, serving as caretaker, and as a member of the Board of Managers. His community service included the Little Harbour Volunteer Fire Department where he was a 50-year member and Past President; the Little Harbour Community Centre, including a term as President; and a long-time volunteer with Scouts Canada, including leader of the Little Harbour Cubs for several years. He also loved his Tuesday and Thursday afternoon curling at the Westville Curling Club.

Bob is survived by his son, Robert "Stephen" Kilcup; sisters: Shirley Langer of Fredericton, NB, and Patricia (Baxter) Hicks of Sackville, NB. He was predeceased by his wife, Joanne (Neale); daughter, Kristen Jane Kilcup; parents, Ernest and Rhoda (Estabrooks) Kilcup; and by an infant sister, Anna Joan Kilcup.

Visitation will take place 6-8 pm Sunday, July 9, at R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow. Funeral will take place 2 pm Monday, July 10, at Little Harbour Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Dr. Joon Ki Kim officiating. Committal service will take place in Church Brook Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Little Harbour Fire Department.

Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society (Nova Scotia Branch) or a charity of choice.
