We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Beverley Anne Hendsbee of Trenton. Bev passed away August 6th at the age of 74 after a brave battle with cancer.
Bev was a beautiful person who was loved by all who were blessed to know her. She lived a wonderful life surrounded by family, good friends and great times. She had an indescribable way about her that made everyone feel special. Enjoying the simple pleasures of life, she loved playing cards, country music, and the many years of camping at Harbor Light Campground. Her life was a living example of kindness and compassion. She was a dedicated wife and mother, and especially treasured her role as Grammie. Bev found strength in her faith in God and her love of family and friends.
Bev is survived by her childhood sweetheart, Steve; her daughters, Kim (Shannon) MacInnis, Krista (Ian) MacIntosh, and her son, Michael (Pam); her grandchildren, Hilary, Amber, Nick, Brooke, Evan, Layla and Camden. She is also survived by her sisters, Kay Long and Rita Coady, both of Trenton. She was predeceased by sisters, Marjorie, Blanche, Audrey; brother, Howard; and her parents, Howard and Mary Long of Trenton.
The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who cared for Bev over the past year, especially those in the Palliative Care Unit.
Visitation will take place at R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow on Wednesday, August 9th from 6:00-9:00pm and the funeral mass will be Thursday, August 10th at Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow at 11:00am.
