Lilian B. "LB" Ross, RN, October 16th 1931- August 21st 2023

We sadly announce the passing of our lovely mother, sister to Arnold, grandmother to six, and great grandmother to 16.

Born at the old Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow, she grew up on the Old Brown Mill Road in Merigomish.

Her dream of becoming a nurse was realized while graduating in 1952. During her nursing career, she was Head Nurse at the Aberdeen Hospital on the 3rd floor, the ER, and, finally, ended her career in the Diabetic clinic.

She is survived by a brother, Arnold; daughters, Debbie (Kelly) and Heather May (Philip); beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, Erin (Dave), Emery and Carson, Jake (Julie), Layla Lilian and Laura, Alex (Emily) Dustin, Ben, and Evelyn, Ross (Meghan), Matthew, Belinda, Elizabeth, Lindsay (Jamie) with twins Lexi and Lilian and Jared (Lena) Ginny and Annie. She also had extended family of Dale, Damian, Dylan and Darrell (UK), Shannon and Neil (BC).

Her favourite things were writing, sending, and receiving cards and letters. She also loved to drink her tea while reading books, magazines and the Bible. Lilian was always fashionable and enjoyed her weekly hair appointments with her favourite hairdressers over the years. She loved photography, music, and, of course, her daytime drama (GH). Lilian truly loved life in general. She enjoyed visits with her family and friends (especially the wonderful staff at Glen Haven who she considered family).

Lilian was predeceased by her loving husband, Emerson; her mother and father and special cousins.

In lieu of flowers please send a beautiful card to someone you care for as she did and when you see a butterfly always think of her.

Visitation will take place at the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow from 6-9pm Sunday, August 27th. A private family service will take place.
