Gerhard Walter Lewicki, October 8, 1951-December 7, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerhard Lewicki of Trenton, Nova Scotia. Gerhard passed away after a lengthy illness on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow. 

A native of Rutherford County, North Carolina, Gerhard was preceded in death by one sister, Sonja Womack and a brother, George Lester Womack, Jr., in addition to his parents. He was a father to Nicole (Sonny Cromwell) and Michael Drvodelic and will be very much missed. Gerhard will also be greatly missed by his partner in life, Colette Devlin, one sister, Silvia Pfaff (Terry); brother, Michael Womack; nephew, Terry Sineath of North Carolina. 

Gerhard also known as Papa G, was a gentle soul who could bring a smile and a hearty laugh to anyone that had the honour of crossing his path. He was always eager to learn and never hesitated to share his wealth of knowledge, jokes and stories, new and old. He was always giving and saw the best of everything. His love of life extended beyond just his family and friends. Gerhard had a love and appreciation for technology (he loved new gadgets), the great outdoors and animals as well. Gerhard was inspirational-he always saw the best in every situation and made others feel the same. Gerhard was an amazing grandfather to his three monsters-Marley, Arielle & Charlotte. He was attentive, full of energy and definitely spoiled them especially with an abundance of love! 

As we mourn the loss of Gerhard, let us remember his love for us and the motto he lived by: "Don't lose your sense of humour and learn something new every day". His memory will be forever carried in our hearts with our stories, laughter and knowledge. A family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of R.H.
