David Brooks Raynard Jr., age 78, of Trenton, Nova Scotia, passed away on January 1, 2024 with family at his side. David was born on October 27, 1945 in Yarmouth to David and Dorothy (Fry) Raynard. 

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marilyn (Dartt) Raynard; his siblings: Tom Raynard, Grace (Al) Fraser, and Ron Raynard; his children: Paula (Robert), Marcy, Michael (Michelle) and Stephen (Celine) and grandchildren: Emma, Matt, Colin, Evan, Ben, Ayden. Dave was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all.

Dave was retired for 26 years from Nova Scotia Power where he was proud to work. Some of the hobbies he enjoyed were hunting with his father and brothers for many years, kayak fishing on the Tusket River since he was a young boy, also carving his canes and animals for everyone. His pride and joy was being a grandpa and he took an active role in their activities and lives as often as he could.

He was predeceased by his mother Dorothy (Tiny) and father David Raynard Sr.

Visitation will be held at R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Avenue, New Glasgow on Friday, January 5th from 6:00- 8:00 pm. A family funeral service will be held on Saturday. Donations in his memory may be made to the Pictou County Palliative Care Society or the VON.
