Mary 'Weezie' Richards

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Richards "Weezie", announces her passing on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the Aberdeen Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Joseph John and Ruby May Fitzpatrick. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Harvey David Fitzpatrick, John William "Bill", Thomas Wayne Hearn, and sister, Patricia Livingstone; and is survived by her brothers, Joseph (Mary) Fitzpatrick, David Weissent; and children, Mike Richards, Maynard Richards (Kat), Amanda Richards (Quintin "Dig"), and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. During her working career, she was employed by Superstore and also New Glasgow Regional Police as a crosswalk guard. Arrangements are under the care of R.H. Porter Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive family and friends from 4-6 pm on Thursday, April 4th, at R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow. Prayers will follow at 6 pm. There will be a private graveside service at a later date. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
