Paul Buell

1962-2024

Paul Buell

With profound sadness and heavy hearts we announce the peaceful but unexpected passing of Paul Daniel Buell, 61, at home on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024.

Paul was born in New Glasgow on April 11, 1962 to the late Alec and Jean Buell. He grew up on Lorne Street in New Glasgow and attended New Glasgow High School. In his early years, Paul enjoyed rebuilding classic cars, boating, and fishing. He retired from Michelin at 48 having completed 30 years of uninterrupted service. He went on to work in the oil field in Fort McMurray before he began working for Hankin Fuels for the past 11 years.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Agnes Buell; their children, Holly (Nathan) Cayman Islands; Kyle, New Glasgow; and Riley, Abercrombie; his sister, Marsha Buell, New Glasgow; his brothers-in-law, Raymond and Stephan Murphy and their families. He is also survived by many cousins and close friends.

Paul was truly one of a kind. He is best known for his quick wit, his intense work ethic and ability to fix or build absolutely anything. In his spare time, he could be found working on cars, doing home renovations, or going for road trips with his wife, Agnes. He enjoyed coffee trips and time spent with his brother-in-law Ray, trips to the States and Las Vegas, his Saturday morning breakfast meet-up at A&W. He was a genuine caretaker and took his role as head of the family with great valour. It was a blessing to have him in our lives and he will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
