It is with deep sadness that the family of Hilda Elaine (Smith) Feltmate, of New Glasgow, NS, announces her sudden passing on Thursday, October 17, 2024 after a brief illness.

Hilda was born in New Glasgow on June 20, 1952, one of eight children of the late Jack and Marion Smith. She was predeceased by her parents and her five brothers: Sydney, Ronny, Stephen, Billy and Johnny. Hilda is survived by her three children: Elaine Feltmate (Smith), Calgary; James (Jennifer) Feltmate, Pictou Landing; and Elizabeth Hatch, Pictou; her husband, Wilfred Feltmate, Little Harbour. She is also survived by many grandchildren including AJ, CJ, Emily, Tyler, Samantha and Laura; her sisters: Frances (Robin) Alexander, Trenton and Cindy (Danny) White, Alberta; many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Fergie MacKay will offer words of comfort at a private family graveside service to be held on Wednesday, October 23, at 2pm at Hillside Cemetery.
