Donald Joseph "Donnie" Turnbull passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow. 

Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Thomas and Violet (MacKinnon) Turnbull of Trenton.

After school, Donnie began working at the former Hawker Siddley Plant and became a welder. He retired in 2006 after 44 years of service.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish and former member of Christ the King Parish in Trenton.

Donnie was a former member of the New Glasgow 55 Plus Club where he enjoyed the many activities and outings.

He is survived by his brother, Philip, Trenton; sister-in-law, Mary MacKinnon, Yarmouth; a niece, nephew, grand nieces and nephews of Yarmouth.  

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Tommy; half-brother, Gerard MacKinnon; and special aunt, Betty MacKinnon.

Thank you to the staff at Glen Haven Manor, especially the caring staff on Crystal Waters and River Glen Units, for their care, concern and kindness shown to Donnie these last two and a half years. Also, thank you to Dr. S. Barclay for his care over the years.

Visitation 2-4pm Monday, February 10, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 73 High Street, Trenton. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Christ the King Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of choice. St. John the Baptist CWL will meet at the Funeral Home at 1:30pm Monday for prayers.
