Norman Melvin Hunter, age 100, of the Glen Haven Manor, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, in the Manor. Born in Trenton on September 4, 1924, he was a son of the late Aaron and Annie Elizabeth (White) Hunter. He was a former car worker at the Hawker Siddeley car plant in Trenton. He resided on Aberdeen Avenue, New Glasgow from 1957-2019 before moving to East River Road. He was a former member of the Abercrombie Golf Club; founding member of the Royal William Yacht Club; member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 29 Trenton; member of New Glasgow 55 Plus Club. He is survived by a chosen daughter, Cindy MacKenzie (Billy) and son, Bubba; several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Theresa (Dungale) Hunter; one brother, George H. Hunter; cousin, Shirley (Fife) Rose. There will be no visitation or funeral by request. Graveside service 2pm Saturday, March 22, in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
