Linda Heather Olding, cherished wife of the late Thomas Olding, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025. 

Born in 1949 in Welland, Ontario, she was adopted in 1957. Linda fulfilled a 50-year search for her biological family, successfully meeting her mother in 2017 and had a meaningful loving relationship with her until her passing in 2022. 

Leaving to mourn are Tom’s daughter, Debra Robson (Howard); grandchildren, Chelsea (Nick) Robertson, Courtney Robson (Daniel) and their children; Linda’s many Ontario and Nova Scotia friends who were family for her.

Linda graduated from CPRI, London in 1972 working with developmentally delayed children proceeding into leadership and executive director roles in Ontario and Nova Scotia. She dedicated her life to caring for others with great compassion, empathy and thoughtfulness. She is looking forward to reuniting with her husband, her beloved puppy, Taffy and those significant others who have gone before her.

A public graveside service will be held at 11am on Friday, August 29, 2025, in Riverview Cemetery, Merigomish, with Rev. Jun-Hyok Chon officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to the SPCA or Merigomish United Church. Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
