With profound sadness, the family of Robert "Bob" Gordon LeBlanc, aged 73, announces his passing on September 12, 2025.
Born in Halifax and raised in Dartmouth, Bob spent most of his married life in Lake Echo, where he and his father built the cherished family home. In recent years, he made his home in Louisville, Nova Scotia. Bob was a quiet, constant, supportive presence sprinkled with a touch of questionable humour.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Roy and Rose (Gibbons) LeBlanc; his brother, Arthur LeBlanc; and his sister, Susan Aymar. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings, Mal Cambridge and Cathy Webster.
A devoted husband to Lynn (Webber) LeBlanc, Bob was also a proud and caring father to Karla Sock (Keenan), Eric LeBlanc (Jill), Laura LeBlanc (Drew Pollock), Jon Brown, Andrew LeBlanc (Morgan Purdy), Alan LeBlanc (Rhona), Erica Beaver, and Helen Regnier. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he treasured every moment with them. Bob also held his nieces, nephews, and many friends close to his heart.
Bob’s strong work ethic began early, first helping his father as an electrician’s helper. After completing his studies at Nova Scotia Community College, he began his career repairing typewriters at Olivetti before joining MT&T (later Bell Aliant), where he worked until his retirement. Bob also built his own company, Jadecom Inc., a business he took great pride in, named after his beloved dog, Jade.
Service to others was central to Bob’s life. He led as a Boy Scout leader and, most profoundly, opened his heart and home as a foster parent for forty years. He offered countless children care, stability, and encouragement, always giving generously of his time and energy.
Bob was a storyteller at heart, quick to share a laugh, and always ready for conversation. He loved travelling with Lynn and dear friends, creating memories filled with adventure and joy.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will take place at the family home on September 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
In place of flowers, donations may be made to the Aberdeen Hospital.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have offered prayers, love, and support during this time of loss. A special note of gratitude is given to the staff of The Aberdeen Hospital whose exceptional kindness and care brought comfort to Bob and his family in his final days.
