Garry Neil "Butch" Vacheresse, 74, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at home. Garry was born in New Glasgow on September 27, 1951, the only child of the late Leonard and Marie Vacheresse. He spent many years as a small engines mechanic and was very passionate about motorcycles and his love for the outdoors. Garry also spent many years living in Ottawa, ON and made some great friendships before moving back home to live out his later years with family. Garry is survived by his loving daughters, Christina and Cheryl; sons, Johnson and Steve; beautiful grandchildren, Brook and Autumn; and cousins: Heather Stewart, Judy Fanning, Willard Warren, Sandra McKinnon, and the late Jerry Barkhouse. A public graveside service will be held at 1pm Friday, October 17, in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow. There will be a Celebration of Life for family and friends on Friday evening from 6pm-12am at the Linacy Fire Hall. Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
