Geraldine (Gerry) Pauline Smith, age 83, passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 30, 2026 at Cole Harbour, NS. Born in Country Harbour, NS, she was the daughter of the late John (Howard) Sinclair and Mamie Hazel Smith.  She was also predeceased by husband, William (Bill) MacKay Smith; daughter, Pamela Suzan Vickery; sister, Sandra Darlene Smith; half-brothers: Austin Howard and Gordon (Floyd) Sinclair; and half-sister, Arlene Laura LeMay.

Surviving are sons: William (Andy) Smith (Deborah) and Kendal Smith (Sheila); daughter, Angela Smith (Ed); grandchildren: Darby Vickery (Tara), Kyle Vickery (Vicky), Chelsea Smith and Jaklyn Smith; and great-grandchildren: Sean Vickery, Alexander (Zander) Vickery,  Freya Gardiner, Owen Vickery, and Logan Gardiner.

Mom was a long-time member of the United Church Women of Waverley, the Waverley Industrial Bowling league, and the PC Party of Nova Scotia. She was an enthusiastic card player of 45s and Bridge and was very proud of her Clan Sinclair heritage. 

At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. A private, family graveside service and interment will take place at the Goshen Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Homes Ltd, New Glasgow. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Goshen Cemetery Fund (e-transfer at: [email protected]) or to another charity of your choosing.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Bissett Court Shannex that treated Mom with kindness and respect.
