Margaret Ellen Langille, age 88, of New Glasgow, passed away Friday, May 15, 2026. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late John Leslie and Margaret Muriel (MacFarlane) Ross. 

She worked at the Norfolk until its closing; the bowling alley on the West Side; a jewellery store in New Glasgow; and, lastly, was a bookkeeper at Langille’s Garage.

She loved music and dancing, never missing a dance at the Legion. Ellen took great pride in her home; loved her jewellery, dressing up, shopping and walking her little dog around the neighbourhood. She enjoyed a get together with her friends on a Sunday afternoon. Her favourite spot was Big Island where many times she loved to go for quiet, peaceful moments.

She is survived by step-children, Alan, Dawn, and Connie (Peter); in-laws: Marjorie (Fraser) Nicholson, Ken (Gale), Gary (Marie) and George.

She was predeceased by her husband, Keith Langille; sister, Dorothy (Donald "Duke") MacDonald.  

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service by request. Donations in her memory may be made to the SPCA. Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home.
