It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Caven
announces his sudden passing on Friday, May 29th, 2026.
Robert was born in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, and moved
to Canada in 1973 with his parents, John and Pat, along with brothers
Gary and Paul.
Robert graduated from Trenton High School before attending
both Georgian College and Acadia University to follow his lifelong
passion in the automotive industry, which culminated in a long,
successful career with Volkswagen Canada.
Robert travelled the world with work, but his true love was
his family. No matter where they called home, together they lived life
to the fullest.
Robert is survived by his son, Liam; mother, Pat; brothers:
Gary (Abigail), Paul (Sherrie); nephews and niece, and extended family
in Northern Ireland, England, Austria, and Ontario.
Robert was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife,
Kim; his father, John Caven; grandparents: Robert and Rachael Moore
and John and Violet Caven.
Visitation 7-9pm Friday, June 12, in R.H. Porter Funeral
Home, 55 Amont Ave., New Glasgow. Funeral service will take place at
R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, on Saturday, June 13th, at
