With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Gordon "Dedi" Vacheresse on June 8th 2026. Born on November 3rd 1948 to parents Wallace Vacheresse and Florence (Moulton) Vacheresse, he spent his life in Trenton, Nova Scotia surrounded by nature, sport and his family. 

He loved fishing, hunting, hockey, baseball, and often spent time in nature. For many years, he cared for his mother alongside his cousin, Debbie Merchant, who also cared for him until his passing. 

He was predeceased by his brothers: Wayne Vacheresse and William "Billy" (Mary) Vacheresse; and leaves behind his sisters: Nancy (George) Brennan and Denise Power; his brothers: Gary (Mary) Vacheresse, Larry Vacheresse; and sister-in-law, Virginia Vacheresse. 

Gordon also leaves behind his adoring nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who are grateful to him for babysitting, picking the best gifts, and often buying ice cream for them at Trenton Park. 

Gordon will be remembered in the sound of birdsong, the lap of a fish on a lake, and the quiet hum of an evening stroll on Christmas Eve.

A family graveside service will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home.
