Some of her fondest memories were growing up in a loving
family on the Mountain Road. Family was very important to Mum, and
anytime there was anyone who was sick or in need, she was
there.
While raising her family, she worked alongside her husband,
Peter, at their restaurant, The Cozy Corner. Mum was a multitalented
person who excelled in painting, stained glass making, and ceramics.
She was a very accomplished photographer, had her own business,
Bonnie's Views Photography, which specialized in family and wedding
photos. Mum also enjoyed gardening, and dancing, particularly
clogging, round and square dancing.
Our family would like to thank her personal care workers,
Brenda Scully and Janie Gordon for all they did for our mother. We
would also like to extend our deepest appreciation to Doctor Corsten
and the nursing staff at the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen
Hospital. We also want to express our gratitude to her neighbours who
were fantastic to her.
Visitation will be at the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont
Ave., New Glasgow on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 6-9 pm.
Mum’s funeral service will be at the R.H. Porter Funeral
Home, New Glasgow, Friday, June 12, 2026, at 2 pm, with interment at
Murray’s Point Cemetery, Lower Barneys River.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, her greatest joy
was family. Her kindness touched everyone she met. Mum will be deeply
missed and forever cherished.
Donations in her memory can be made to the IWK Children’s
Hospital.
