The family of John Anthony Tomlik sadly announce the passing
of our beloved brother at the Aberdeen Hospital on July 11,
2026.
Born on July 17, 1937, John was the first son of Anthony and
Margaret (Andrews) Tomljanovic Tomlik. He was born
in Sydney NS and moved at an early age to Linacy and later to New
Glasgow where he graduated from New Glasgow High
School.
John completed a diploma from the Radio College of Canada in
Toronto and began a television repair business. He later graduated
from the St. Martha’s Hospital School of Radiology and
worked at the Aberdeen Hospital. John moved on to apply his skills in
sales throughout the Maritimes.
Music was an important part of John’s life. A
skilled guitar player, John played in a bank, Johnny T. and the
Beaumonts, primarily within Pictou County.
Never seeking recognition, John provided support to the less
fortunate, a trait passed down to him from his caring
father.
He was predeceased by his brother, George. John is survived
by a brother, Paul (Diane), Antigonish; and sister, Marguerite (Donald
Rowe), Victoria, BC; as well as six nieces and nephews.
Visitation 11am – 1pm Saturday, July 18, followed
by service at 1pm, in R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New
Glasgow. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Operation Smile
Canada, The War

Care Unit c/o Aberdeen Health Foundation.
