Trenton - Laura May Petroff, age 91, formerly of Trenton, passed away
Sunday, September 11, 2011 in the Glen Haven Manor. Born in
Stellarton, she was a daughter of the late James and Margaret
(Johnson) MacKenzie. She was employed at and retired many years ago
from the Heather Motel. Laura will be remembered by many as one who
loved to play bingo. She was predeceased by her husband James
Petroff, her companion of many years Fenwick Grealey, sisters:
Margaret and Edith, brothers: Daniel, John and Frampton. She is
survived by all her children: Mildred (Don) Anderson, Vancouver, BC;
Shirley Baker, Vancouver, BC; James (Agnes) Petroff, Trenton, NS;
Daniel (Amelda) Petroff, Brampton, ON; Eileen Beaman, Vancouver, BC;
Ida MacKenzie, Green’s Point, NS; Judy Petroff; Gloria (David)
Hooper, Pictou Landing, NS; Lynda (Ralph) Morrison, Swan Hills, AB;
three grandchildren she raised as her own: Sonya (Robert) Carmichael,
New Glasgow, NS; Kim (Mike) Smith, Annapolis Valley, NS; Stacey (Bud)
Petroff, Trenton, NS; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation by request. A private graveside service
will be held in Hillside Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Ken MacLeod
officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of
choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the R.H. Porter
